OUR PROJECTS

In order to uphold and  promote honor and excellence in the service of the Filipino people, the DX Program is leading the charge in the digital transformation of UPLB that will keep it competitive through the years in all aspects and facets of operation.

Identity and Access Management System (IAMS)

Identity and Access Management System (IAMS) is a framework of policies, processes, and technologies that organizations use to manage and control access to their systems and data. IAMS will help UPLB ensure that only authorized individuals have access to their resources and applications, and that access is granted based on a user’s identity, job function, and business need. By implementing an IAMS, UPLB can improve security, compliance, and operational efficiency, while reducing the risk of data breaches, unauthorized access, and insider threats.

Data Warehouse and Executive Information System (EIS)

A data warehouse is a central repository that stores integrated data from various sources within an organization. It is designed to support business intelligence (BI) activities such as reporting, analysis, and decision-making. An executive information system, on the other hand, is a software system that provides a comprehensive view of an organization’s data and operations.

The data warehouse is a key component of the executive information system, as it serves as a central repository for the data needed for reporting and analysis across various business functions. By integrating data from various sources, a data warehouse provides a consistent view of the organization’s data, which helps decision-makers/executives make well-informed decisions.

Output Reporting System (ORS) and Online Faculty Service Record (FSR) System

The Output Reporting System (ORS) is a digital platform that allows UPLB to track and report the research and scholarly activities of their faculty members and researchers. ORS is designed to streamline the process of collecting and analyzing data related to research output, including publications, presentations, grants, and collaborations. UPLB can easily assess the trends, identify areas for improvement, and provide evidence of their scholarly activities and achievements to external stakeholders, such as funding agencies and accreditation bodies. Additionally, ORS can be used to facilitate communication and collaboration among faculty members and researchers, enhancing the overall research ecosystem of the institution. ORS will become the data source for the Faculty and REPS Service Records.

Academic Management Information System (AMIS)

The Academic Management Information System (AMIS) is UPLB’s homegrown application made to serve the academic information system needs of its constituents. This system includes all aspects of a student’s stay in the university as well as all the functions needed by faculty and administrative staff to fulfill their respective duties and responsibilities. It is an open, scalable and highly secure system that is specifically designed to implement the following student modules

Service Oriented Architecture Platform

Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) is an approach to software design and development that emphasizes the use of independent, modular services to create flexible and scalable systems. A Service Oriented Architecture Platform provides a framework for building and managing these services, allowing UPLB-DX to easily create, deploy, and manage applications that can be quickly adapted to changing needs. UPLB-DX can reduce the time and cost of software development, improve agility and scalability, and better align technology with its goals.

Faculty Merit Promotion

FMP is the process through which faculty members at academic institutions are recognized and rewarded for their achievements, contributions, and excellence in teaching, research, service, and other scholarly activities. The goal of merit promotion is to acknowledge and encourage faculty members who demonstrate outstanding performance in their roles and to provide incentives for continued growth and excellence. Also serves as a repository of documents, faculty applicants can revisit their applications and use the documents they uploaded for different purposes, such as grants and awards.

Gender Center Project

Gender Responsive Management Information System (GRMIS) was co-created and corresponded to the gender-related data warehouse requirements of the Executive Information System (EIS) of the Digital Transformation project of the University. This is to ensure adherence to the mandated 5% GAD budget that UPLB allocates for direct cost and attributed PPAs. Modules are Gender and Planning Budgeting, GAD Activity Registration, PS Attribution, Accomplishment Reporting, Various Administration, and Sex Disaggregated Data (SDD).

Tour Reservation and Information Processing System (TRIPS)

PASEO is an edutourism program funded by the Commission on Higher Education. Its logo features the Philippines Eagle Owl (Ketupa philippinensis) alongside iconic elements of UPLB. The Philippine Eagle Owl, a captivating and emblematic species of the Philippines, is renowned for its impressive size, striking appearance, and crucial role in the country’s ecosystem balance. The owl is also a symbol of knowledge and wisdom, supporting the edutourism goal of the PASEO Program.

Under the PASEO program of the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs, UPLB TRIPS will be deployed for the growth of tourism in the University of the Philippines, Los Banos. This will serve as a platform for guests to book their trip to various UPLB destinations.
